A tape, a photo, and the tightest number.

We build to the smallest reading and pack the rest. Guessing a “nice round figure” is how panels bind.

Width

Inside the reveal at the plane the frame will sit — not the glass, not the sash. Write all three.

Drop

Sill to head, both sides. Note a tiled sill, a sloping head, or a stool that sticks past the lining.

Square

If they differ by more than about 10 mm, prefer a face or Z frame and say so on the form.

Photo

Standing back beats a close-up. Include the architrave so we pick L, Z or deco.

Hang

Inside the reveal, or on the face.

L frame / recess. The panel sits in the plaster or timber lining. Needs a clear, reasonably square reveal and enough depth for the frame.

Z frame / face. The frame covers the architrave. More forgiving when walls are out or the reveal is shallow.

If a window already has blinds on a face fix, send a photo of the brackets. We will tell you whether they have to come off.
